Finally, if you want to start a new business, go by the Small Business Development Center in Prairie View.

WEDC is a Texas 4A economic development corporation. By collecting a small portion of sales tax paid in the city, the WEDC is able to assist certain types of businesses relocating into the city. Development Partnership

The WCEDP is a public/private organization funded by a combination of private investors and county revenues. The WCEDP operates throughout the county and provides a variety of services to new and expanding businesses. They are located at 742 12th St., Hempstead, TX 77445. Small Business Development Center

The SBDC is located on the campus of Prairie View A&M University in the College of Business, Room 1B117 in Hobart Hall. The office has reserved parking and anyone interested in starting a business is encouraged to visit the center. They also produce seminars for those interested in starting a new business.
